SCMPCR regularly organizes accredited hands-on workshops (3-4 per year) and in-service training in collaboration with several national and international organizations and hospitals for cancer team professionals (Doctors, Medical Physicists, Nurses, and other providers). These programs were accredited by the International Organization of Medical Physics (IOMP) and the European Board for Accreditation in Medical Physics (EBAMP).

To meet the challenge of digitalizing the health care sectors, e-learning interference for education and training could greatly benefit. It is to mention that, During Covid 19 like other organizations SCMPCR is still continuing its activities for its sustainability. Hence, SCMPCR has implemented two successful e-learning programs with the accreditation from EBAMP.

In 2021 the first e-learning program ELP-03 will be on Brachytherapy: Brachytherapy Basic Principles and Advanced Clinical Applications will comprise of a series of lectures, practical demonstration, group discussion, and examination from 5th February to 26th February 2021 which will be delivered by well-experienced experts from the developed countries in the field of Brachytherapy.

South Asia (SA) region with its eight countries (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Srilanka) is about 1.891 billion inhabitants which are approximately one-fourth of the world’s population. Despite massive diversity across the South Asian (SA) countries, they face a big challenge to develop cancer control programs. The safe and effective implementation of technology in radiotherapy treatment requires expert medical physics support. The shortage of clinically qualified medical physicists is a worldwide problem that is well recognized and it is acute also in the South Asia region. To manage the huge growing demand of cancer patients, South Asia Centre for Medical Physics and Cancer Research (SCMPCR) has established at 2018 and constantly trying to create skilled manpower for the cancer treatment through different categories of programs along with national and international collaborative approach. SCMPCR arranges meetings, seminar, workshop, hands on training, in-service training, e-learning and awareness program with the national and international experts for the mass people as well as relevant personal of the different fields in health sectors for different communicable and non-communicable diseases, especially for the cancer patients to achieve SDG-goal 3 (Good Health & Well-being) and SDG-goal 4 (Quality Education). SCMPCR regularly organizes accredited hands-on workshops (3-4 per year) and in-service training in collaboration with several national and international organizations and hospitals for cancer team professionals (Doctors, Medical Physicists, Nurses, and other providers). These programs are accredited by the International Organization of Medical Physics (IOMP) and the European Board for Accreditation in Medical Physics (EBAMP). To meet the challenge of the next industrial revolution and digitalization of health care technologies SCMPCR has introduced an e-learning program during this corona Pandemic from June 2020, for the first time in Bangladesh for medical physicists. The overwhelming response of over 150 participants from more than 50 countries in our first program made these e-learning programs a success for us. The participants had put their positive responses on the evaluation of the program. The 2nd E-Learning Program (ELP-02) of SCMCR will be held in October 2020. This course has been accredited by EBAMP as CPD event for Medical Physicists at EQF Level 7 and awarded 12 CPD credit points. From 2021, SCMPCR will organize accredited e-learning courses 3 times in a year with a series of lectures with international well- renowned speakers in parallel to the other activities

The e-learning program is aiming to develop theoretical knowledge and latest clinical experience of radiotherapy treatment techniques. SCMPCR will arrange 3 webinar programs for ELP-01 (June-July 2020) for the participant with certification to successfully assess eLearning performance. However, it is mandatory for the participant to participate in all the 3 lectures to achieve the course certificate. Besides, an evaluation of the program will be executed for further improvement of the e-learning program at the last day of the program. Already 270 people have registered from 51 countries.
